Initially, when Jio launched the 4G LTE service on Sember 5, 2016 offering free unlimited data and voice calls. While other operators such as Airtel, Idea, Vodafone, BSNL were charging a bomb for 4G data and calls, Jio brought a revolution in the telecom sector and almost cut down the competition. Following are a few methods to check Jio balance, Net balance, data usage, validity, etc in Jio prepaid and postpaid.
Technique 1: Know your Jio Balance, Net Balance via SMS/Missed Call.
- Jio balance, Net balance and validity can be checked by dial 1299,
- The call will be automatically disconnected,
- Then you will get a message on your number from which you have requested to check the balance.
- Or you can even type MBAL to 55333 and you shall get a text message.
- The text message will have information about your plan, data usage, SMS usage, recharge balance, plan expiring date, etc.
Following are some Important SMS that you can try in future to get some important information regarding your JIO number:
- BILL to 199: Jio Postpaid customers may check their Jio bill amount by sending SMS.
- MYPLAN to 199: To know the current plan for Jio,
- START to 1925: To Activate your 4G data on your SIM,
- TARIFF to 191: To Check Call rate,
- JIO to 199: To know your own Jio number,
- MBAL to 55333: To Check your 4G data usage,

Technique 2: Check Jio Balance using MyJio App
Most of the Jio users use MyJio app to take control of their Jio number account and track their active 4G plan deatils and other information related to the Jio plan and other features. A user can quickly check his/her balance, net balance, data usage, plan validity, and latest offers, etc. Additionally, Jio allows their users to generate a detailed statement of their usage viz., call, messages, data, search nearby Jio stores and etc.
Step 1: Download MyJio App from your android phone app store. Android | iOS if you do not have the MyJio App.
Step 2: First time users need to register their Jio number, complete the registration process using your Jio number and OTP.
Step 3: Then, open the MyJio app. Once you open the app, you will get the View Detail Option.
Step 4: Now, click on view detail, now you can see SMS balance, Data Balance, Voice Call Balance, Plan expiry date and etc.
Technique 3: Check Jio Balance by Call
Step 1: Dial 1800 889 9999 or 1991 from your Jio Number.
Step 2: Then you will be asked to choose your preferred language like Hindi, English, Assamese, Punjabi, Kannada, and etc.
Step 3: Select a language you are comfortable with and press the respective key you are asked to press.
Step 4: Then, the IVR system will tell your daily Data balance and validity in details.
Step 5: Now, you will be asked to know the past recharges in 30 days, Current data balance, and validity. Select the respective key to know details about the respective option.
Step 6: Select the current data and validity option to know the balance or if you want to know about the plan, choose the past recharges in 30 days option.
